Eldorado High School

Eldorado High School wanted to serve more student-athletes more efficiently.

The old training setup was limited by outdated equipment and too few stations, which restricted how many athletes could train at one time. As the school looked to improve its strength and conditioning program, capacity became one of the biggest priorities.

The new construction project gave Eldorado the opportunity to build a more functional training environment around current program needs rather than continue working around an outdated setup.

Eldorado focused on three priorities:

• Add more usable training stations
• Improve traffic flow through the room
• Increase the number of athletes the facility could support at one time
  

The new space also needed to give coaches better visibility and create a cleaner, more organized environment for athletes across all sports.

Stray Dog worked with Eldorado’s coaches and administration to plan the facility around the school’s budget, timeline, equipment needs, and desired layout.

The 115' x 30' footprint created a long, narrow room, so the design needed to use the available length efficiently without making the space feel crowded.

The final layout centered on 5 Alpha Double Half Racks, creating 10 total rack stations.

The equipment plan included:

• 5 Alpha Double Half Racks
• 10 total rack stations
• 14 benches
• 10 platforms
• Dumbbell storage
  

The Double Half Rack configuration gave Eldorado more training positions while keeping equipment consolidated and preserving movement through the room.

A 3D facility design was used before installation so the school could review the layout, equipment placement, and overall room flow before the project moved forward.

Stray Dog handled delivery and installation for the Eldorado project.

Once the facility plan was approved, the team installed the Alpha Double Half Racks, benches, platforms, and dumbbell storage according to the final design.

Because this was new construction, the room could be laid out around the approved training plan from the start rather than adapting around older equipment or an inherited floorplan.

Eldorado finished the project with a more efficient strength facility built to support athletes across the school.

The new space provides:

• Greater overall training capacity
