Guerin Catholic High School

Guerin Catholic needed a larger, more capable training space to support a growing athletic program.

The previous setup was limited by outdated equipment and not enough capacity for the number of athletes using the room. As the program expanded, the school needed more stations, better traffic flow, and enough open floor space to make the room work for athletes across multiple sports.

The project was driven by program growth, school investment, and a broader facility expansion.

Guerin Catholic focused on three priorities:

• Create a larger training environment
  
• Improve traffic flow through the room
  
• Increase the number of athletes the facility could support at one time
  

The space also needed to stay organized, preserve clear coaching sightlines, and leave enough open floor area for warm-ups and movement work.

Stray Dog worked with Guerin Catholic’s coaching staff and administration to plan the facility around the school’s budget, timeline, equipment needs, and preferred layout.

The 3,700-square-foot footprint called for a design that could add meaningful training capacity without making the room feel crowded.

The final layout centered on 10 Alpha Double Half Racks, giving the program multiple training positions while keeping the room open and easy to move through.

The equipment plan included:

• 10 rack stations
• 10 benches
• 10 platforms
• PowerBlock trays
• Storage cubbies
• ATR med ball and dumbbell storage

Storage was built into the plan from the beginning rather than treated as an afterthought. That helped keep loose equipment off the floor, reduce clutter around the rack stations, and preserve more usable training space.

A 3D facility design was also used before installation so the coaching staff and administration could review the layout, station placement, and overall flow before the project moved forward.

Stray Dog handled delivery and installation for the Guerin Catholic project.

Once the design was approved, the team installed the Alpha Double Half Racks, benches, platforms, and storage systems according to the final facility plan.

Because the project was new construction, the installation could follow the intended layout from the start rather than work around legacy equipment or an inherited room configuration.

Guerin Catholic finished the project with a more functional, higher-capacity strength facility built to serve athletes across the school.
