Grip Plates feature built in handles that make them easier to carry, load, and move throughout training sessions. This makes them a great option for movements like farmer carries, plate holds, rotational core work, and other exercises where athletes directly handle the plate itself. Unlike bumper plates, each Grip Plate size has its own diameter, allowing smaller plates to maintain a lower profile. This creates greater range of motion on exercises like RDLs, bent over rows, and other movements where full size bumper plates may contact the floor too early and limit the exercise.
The thinner iron profile also makes Grip Plates ideal for plate loaded machines and storage efficiency. You can fit significantly more total weight on machines like leg presses, belt squats, jammer arms, and plate loaded cable units compared to bumper plates. Many coaches prefer leaving multiple Grip Plates loaded directly on machines for faster athlete transitions and easier setup during large group training sessions.
