Integrating Tech Into Racks

Integrating Tech Into Racks

Date:

Over the last few years, technology in weight rooms, specifically at the rack station level, has advanced rapidly. As the market has grown, access has improved and costs have come down. It is still not cheap, but it is more affordable and realistic for programs than it was just a few years ago.

One consistent issue is integration. There are strong options for VBT, camera tracking for VBT and form analysis, rep tracking, and other data tools, but they are typically separate from the rack itself. That leads to a poor setup with wires taped or velcroed to high end racks and expensive tech, which is not a clean or durable solution.

We addressed that directly in our rack design. Our racks now include built in channels for power banks, pass through routing for cables, and dedicated mounting points for technology. We have also developed LED logo beam connectors, and integrated lighting within the rack tubing. The goal is simple. Clean integration that supports technology without compromising the look, function, or longevity of the rack station done right and not jerry rigged by the coaches themselves.

For programs that already have racks and are not ready to upgrade, we offer practical solutions like our movable iPad mounts and charging towers. Our Charging Tower was designed to simplify setup, storage, and charging by keeping everything centralized and organized both iPads and OUTPUT VBT devices can be charged here.  It functions as a mobile upright on wheels with five USB C ports on each side and a single wall plug, allowing coaches to charge multiple devices at once without clutter or extra wiring. It can also be custom ordered to be wired with other cords like older iPad cords or Micro-USB Cords which power several linear position transducers VBT Devices such as Vitruve.

This level of integration is built into our standard racks, so your facility is ready for technology integration whether you choose to use it now or later. It does not add additional cost, but it is a major upgrade in long term adaptability and functionality. Retrofitting existing racks for this type of integration would require full disassembly, cutting into crossmembers, and either repainting the units or accepting permanent damage to the finish.

Check out our article titled "Future Proofed Racks" to see how our systems stand out from many others on the market in terms of adaptability, modularity, and long term maintenance. We can also create custom integrations for specific technologies or accessories if our standard solutions do not meet your needs.
