Stray Dog Strength was the original Pioneer of the modern day rack system, introducing our first rack to the market in 1999. Today, Stray Dog Strength continues our legacy of innovation, modular design, and custom-built solutions that are a breed apart.
After finishing his college football career at Ashland University Matt Purdy, the founder of Stray Dog Strength started working in the industry. His first job was delivering equipment for Barrys Barbell a retailer in Columbus Ohio.
Matt decides to leave Barrys Barbell to start his own company called The Equipment Guys. This company was a manufactures rep and served the strength and conditioning market.
For efficiency, Matt had the idea of a singular rack that you could both squat and bench out of at the same. Since a rack of this style was not readily available on the market he decides to start building his own and creates Stray Dog Strength.
